R560 SASSA Grant-In-Aid October 2025: Full Payment Schedule And Eligibility Explained

R560 SASSA Grant In Aid 2025 : There are many South Africans who take care of frail persons or persons with disabilities or those who are unable to care for themselves, who depend on the SASSA Grant-In-Aid to provide financial help. As of October 2025, the amount of the grant was R560 a month, so the fund continues to lend itself as support to families that bear additional caregiving burdens.

What Is Grant-In-Aid?

The Grant-In-Aid is the top-up allowance awarded to those who are already receiving some other kind of social grant, for example, the old age pension, the disability grant, or the war veteran’s grant. It is for beneficiaries who demand full-time care by another person due to health or disability.

R560 may seem quite a small amount, but it helps cover caregiving expenses, such as food, medical supplies, or transport. For many families, this grant serves as a mitigating factor in decreasing financial burden.

Eligibility Criteria For October 2025

Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for a R560 Grant-In-Aid:

  • They already receive a main SASSA social grant.
  • A state-appointed medical practitioner has made an assessment that full-time care is required.
  • They are South African citizens, permanent residents, or refugees living in the country.
  • They are currently not residing in a state institution providing full-time care from the state (such as government fund-delivered care).

This grant cannot be given as a single grant; it can only be paid concurrent with another qualifying SASSA grant.
