SASSA Grant Increase 2025 : South Africa sees a huge population score due to an increase in SASSA social grants starting October 2025. South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the raising of certain grants to provide somewhat relief to their vulnerable households, which are struggling with increased cost of living.

  • Care Dependency Grant: R2,335, now.
  • Child Support Grant: Now R530.
  • Foster Child Grant: Increased to R1,200.
  • War Veteran’s Grant: Now at R2,355.

October 2025 Payment Dates

SASSA has confirmed that the payments of grants in October 2025 will be made as usual:

  • Old Age Grant: From Thursday, 2 October 2025.
  • Disability Grant: From Friday, 3 October 2025.
  • Children’s Grants: From Monday, 6 October 2025.

Beneficiaries are advised that their money remains safely in their accounts until withdrawal, so they need not rush on the first day.

How To Access Your Grant

Beneficiaries may access funds through several means:

  • Direct bank transfers.
  • SASSA Gold Cards at various ATMs.
  • At retail partners of SASSA, namely Shoprite, Pick n Pay, and Checkers.
  • Cash pay points in rural areas. 

In addition, SASSA encourages beneficiaries to update their banking and personal details so that payments will not get delayed.
