Big Relief: SASSA Confirms R3,070 SRD Payments For October 2025

SASSA R3,070 SRD Grant 2025 : South Africans who have been facing continuous economic difficulties can now take a sigh of relief as the South African Security Agency (SASSA) has officially confirmed the payment of the Social Relief of Distress cash amount of R3,070, for October 2025. The news is a ray of hope for an unemployed populace consisting of many families reeling under tough times. 

October 2025 Payment Dates

Payments will be rolled out in phases commencing Thursday, 3 October 2025, according to SASSA. Beneficiaries should bear in mind that payment times vary, depending on the bank of their preference, generally taking 2 to 3 business days after processing.

SASSA urges henceforth that all beneficiaries keep their banking details current so as not to hamper the flow of transactions. Payments through retail partners, i.e., Shoprite, Pick n Pay, or Boxer, will also be disbursed during the same time.

  • Must not be receiving grants or UIF payments or NSFAS funding.
