SASSA Reveals October And November Payment Dates – Check Updated Grant Rules

SASSA Grant Payment Dates 2025 : Recipients of grants from the agency can now plan their activities with certainty as the agency has now released its official calendar for the payment of grants in October and November 2025. Along with releasing these payment dates, SASSA has also announced changes in eligibility that will affect some applicants and beneficiaries.

October And November 2025 Payment Dates

SASSA has laid out its payment schedule in such a way that no group is left waiting too long. Staggering the payment disbursements help in ensuring that there will not be too much pressure at the collection points and ATM withdrawals.

  • The Older Persons Grants will be paid first, from Thursday, 2 October 2025, including anything linked to these accounts, such as spouse grants.
  • On Friday, 3 October 2025, Disaster Grants will be paid.
  • Child Support, Foster Care, and all other remaining grants will be paid from Monday, 6 October 2025.

For November 2025, the dates move slightly forward:

  • Older Persons Grants will be ready for payment from Monday, 03 November 2025.
  • Disability Grants will be paid on Tuesday, 04 November 2025.
  • Child Support and other grants are scheduled for Wednesday, 05 November 2025.

Beneficiaries are reminded that once funds are made available, they stay safe within their accounts until withdrawn. There is no need to pick up funds from payment points at first day of dates.

Key Eligibility Updates

SASSA also confirmed important eligibility updates that will come into force in October:

  • Income Thresholds : If an applicant’s income exceeds a new limit, then such an applicant may not qualify for a grant any longer. For example, with the new household earning limits, individuals should recheck their eligibility.
  • Biometric Verification : Beneficiaries may be required to undergo fingerprint or facial-recognition authentications so as to curb fraudulent proves and duplicate applications.
  • SRD R370 Grant : The Social Relieve of Distress Grant shall continue, but strict verification will be applied to ensure that only unemployed and seriously financially challenged citizens shall benefit.

Let’s look at how this will affect application procedures. The News Bulletin that comes out in the first week says the following correction: since this affects applications, particulars that will also include banking details, income proof, and identification documents must be verified-accurate and updated-on the SASSA system.
